A celebratory naming ceremony for ZIM SAMMY OFER, the first 15,000 TEULNG-powered vessel was held at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Korea!

As the first of ten vessels ordered by Seaspan as part of a long-term mutual chartering agreement, the ZIM Sammy Ofer is not only the greenest alternative currently available in the market for large-scale fleets, but is also equipped with the latest technology to ensure the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Idan Ofer, son of the late Sammy Ofer, and his wife, Sponsor Lady Batya Ofer, joined the ceremony via Zoom. Among the dignitaries attending were Eli Glickman, ZIM President & CEO, Bing CHEN, Atlas Corp President & CEO, Mr. Jaytee Jung, SHI President & CEO, David Arbel, ZIM EVP COO, Peter Curtis, Seaspan Chief Commercial Officer, Torsten Holst Pedersen, Seaspan COO, JJ Meyer, Seaspan VP Asset Integrity, and Daniel Gherisim, Seaspan Manager, Fleet Engineering.

Company management wished Captain Sanjay Soparkar and his crew a safe and smooth journey on the new vessel.
